Hyperlink in Excel (Sharepoint library) to Word doc - error

I have a library with 2 documents uploaded - one being excel file
which I have added hyperlinks to another document (MS Word) in the same
library - when I open the excel file and press hyperlink to word doc I
get error can't open specified file - We are running Wss 3.0, Office
2003.
