http vs SSL

Asked By: Cara    Date: Sep 09    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 1559

Anyone know how to make http and SSL for the same URL working?

I am using a reverse proxy and load balance device (BigIP)

I want to have my users get in via https from the external network and
internal network (https://xyz.com <https://xyz.com/> )

Seems that might not work as when my users try to edit or use some web
parts, like the web content editor, it doesn't work.

So, if my users internally access the site without SSL, http://xyz.com
<http://xyz.com/> , everything works.

But if I come from the outside, and access the site via SSL,
https://xyz.com <https://xyz.com/> , I get a bunch of unsafe content vs
secure content warnings, because links or pictures are showing up as

How do I fix this so either

1. everything comes through https but needs to have everything
2. internal goes through http and external https, but no broken
links or unsecure warnings.

In the IIS while specifying the site  or directory as a https  supported, u
can make it as optional one. If the user wants to access  it by https he can
access or other wise he can directly access

Or other wise

U can define different URL for single portal from the central

Yes. The site  is working from the outside.

I hae read about extending the web  application, but would like to know how.
