http 400 Bad Request when doing a team site restore

Asked By: Bradley Rogers         Date: Dec 29, 2007      Category: Sharepoint      Views: 938

I am moving my sharepoint farm to a new data center and I am receiving
a vary perplexing error. Since it is not as straight forward on how
to restore a team site that has been extended to a top level site
(like it is a portal) I have performed the following. I re-created
the site with the same database name. It then asks me to pick a site
template when I hit the URL of the site. Then I restored the database
from my old farm into the new production servers. As soon as I do
this I get a HTPP 400 BAD REQUEST error. I then blew the site away by
unextending sharepoint from the virtual server and deleting the
content database. I then recreated the site got to the template pick
screen and stopped. I then backed up the existing team site using
FrontPages Server--> Backup site function. Then I restored the site
to the URL. Same exact error when I do it this way as well. Any
suggestions?
