Hiding selected templates

Asked By: Mahesh Kansakar         Date: Jul 14, 2010      Category: Sharepoint 2010      Views: 1175

Hello
I have just installed sharepoint 2010 (eval). I need to hide or remove templates like blog, wiki so that no user can create blog or wiki. After googling, many sites suggested to edit webtemp.xml and change the HIDDEN field value to TRUE, which did to both blog and wiki fields and restarted the IIS. But the blog and wiki still there and I can create both. Please suggest me if I am missing anything or is there other method to remove those templates.

Thanks

If your SharePoint is localized into a language that is not English, you need to change the XML under the corresponding folder (1033 = English)
