Hide Grouped Listings Web Part if "There are no listings to display"

Asked By: Aurelio Head         Date: Jun 26, 2006      Category: Sharepoint      Views: 239

I am using a grouped listings web part to target links. One set of
links is targetd to HR Hiring Managers, the other set to HR Recruiting
Managers. The listings are grouped by Audience.

When a user who is not a member of either audience enters the portal
area, he sees the message: "There are no listings to display".

Is there a way to hide this web part from the users who are not
members of these groups so that they do not see the message or is
there another solution?

you can select the target  audiences for the entire web  part
in advanced settings when modifying the shared web part; so I can
select only those 2 audiences. When others enter the area, the web
part does not show ..

Just understand that this is not a security feature – audiences are a “view crafting” feature. To be sure, they are neat, but they are not security.
