We have a group who created a custom list to collect email blast
requests from staff. They set up the fields they needed, created a
calendar view for the email blast schedule, etc. It's great, but
they need to have an approval system for this. They set up the list
to require approval, and the two site admins are signed up for
alerts to the list so they can go in and approve new requests.
They are frustrated that, after the initial data is submitted and
they've approved it, if the requestor goes back in to edit the data,
the status goes back to "pending" and is temporarily removed from
all views (like that oh-so-important calendar schedule that everyone
refers to). Also, there is no way for them to tell exactly what it
was that was changed by the requestor.
Further, the two site admins who manage this approval process then
need to tell others involved that the email is still good-to-go and
let them know of any changes.
Any thoughts on a creative way to help resolve some of these
problems? I know we could purchase add-ons to help, but we aren't
planning to purchase anything else for 2003 since 2007 fixes a lot
of these annoying problems. I need solutions that don't carry a
price tag. ;)
Please share any/all creative workarounds to get this done as
efficiently as possible.
