Asked By: Zane    Date: Apr 29    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 956

When I launch Sharepoint portal server 2003, I get the following error

An unexpected error has occurred.

"Web Parts Maintenance Page": If you have permission, you can use this page to temporarily disable Web Parts or remove personal settings. For more information, contact your site administrator.

When I click the link for Web Parts Maintenance Page, It gives the message, "page cannot be displayed"

Has any one any Idea what I need to do to fix this... It was a working portal earlier.

Can you get to http://[portal]/Default.aspx?contents=1 ?

If not, you may have to remove some rows from the WEBPARTS table
associated with in the underlying content database (PORTAL_SITE). First
determine the ID (guid) of the portal  page in the DOCS table (search for
something like LeafName = 'Default.aspx'. Then select the related row(s)
in the WEBPARTS table WHERE tp_PageUrlID equals DOCS guid.

Something like this:
SELECT *
FROM WEBPARTS
WHERE tp_PageUrlID = '{36F09962-E88D-4A2C-A90A-0D2CC7FA5D48}'

Determine which row is causing the error and delete it.
