I'm trying to configure the search and index feature for sps 2003 in a
medium farm, and i keep getting the following error:

The gatherer index was not initialized. The content index must be
remounted. If the index is still not initialized, remove it.

my topology seems fine; job and index on one server and search and web
on another (a third db server).

Two other things to note: in central admin, manage search settings,
indexes and propogation, our portal site is listed as http://, when we
actually use SSL...could that be the problem?

Also, we recently moved our farm from one set of servers to another;
could the search settings be looking in the wrong place? Any help
would be greatly appreciated.
