Need help with form library (UNCLASSIFIED)

Asked By: Tara Rogers         Date: Sep 28, 2006      Category: Sharepoint      Views: 210

Does anyone know how to hide older versions of a form in a document library, or if it is even possible? We need to keep track of these forms for records management purposes, but only want the “latest and greatest” forms shown for reporting.

You could always add a column of meta data that shows an item as archived and then filter your data to show only active items. Or if it's "date" driven, you could create a filter that looks at the date and drops it from the view after a certain period of time.

Any thought of migrating them to another library  on a nightly basis?

We use this approach in dozens of settings very effectively. Sometimes
listitems are filtered based upon the passage of time but other times
they are filtered due to properties that information office workers set
themselves.

I’ve thought of that, but it’s probably going to be pretty extensive so that won’t work too well.
