Help with connecting lists

Asked By: Miguel    Date: Jul 30    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 765

Has anyone out there tried linking two lists by using webpart connections (or code?) such that it allows you to add an item in one list and have it automatically populate a field in another list?

For e.g If I have 2 lists in a team site. List A and List B (these could have identical columns if needed) - how can I make the connection between list A and List B such when I add a new item in list A (for e,g Title field) it should automatically populate the title column in list B?

Any suggestions?or workarounds?

you can have built ur own webpart  that automatically
extracts items from ur first webpart. But you can do
what u wanted by creating ur own list  and importing
the same webpart twice.

Unlike a SharePoint Library, a SharePoint List does not yet have an event
model. I believe that it will in the next release. I have yet to find
(although I believe that it could be done) a way to respond with code  when
the user clicks the "Save and Close" button on the toolbar.
