Having Search feature Search Exchange Public Folder when Form Based

Asked By: Jayshree Modi         Date: Dec 25, 2007      Category: Sharepoint      Views: 290

I want to be able to search a public folder thought SharePoint, I have
set up the content source, but when I run a crawl it comes up empty. Any
suggestions on how to get it to work? I think it could be an issues
since we have Form Based Authentication enabled but I could be wrong.
Any suggestions would be helpful.

The content  Access Account is what provides access to the content source
to be crawled. If the address is only available via FBA access you
won't be able to crawl  it for indexing. You need to provide an
alternate access address for the content that uses Windows
Authentication.

Which versions of SharePoint and Exchange are you using? There are
known issues with crawling Exch2007 in general, and you'll need Windows
authentication for indexing in any case.
