What happened to the description?

What happened to the option to show Area descriptions in the Table of
contents Web part? We use this in '03 as a synopsis for each department to
make the site map more usable. Is there something I'm missing or did MS just
remove that option?

Areas don't exist in MOSS 2007. If you upgrade they are updated as regular

Actually, I sort of achieved what I set out to do. I wanted to mimic the
Area Contents Web part  of '03 so we could continue to differentiate parent
and child sites, along with providing a brief description  of each sub-sites
purpose. I was able to do this by selecting "Vertical with Descriptions" for
the second layer presentation secition of the Table of contents Web part.

Who would have thunk they would move checkbox functionality to the
presentation layer?
