Grouping of Files by Column

Asked By: Amos Bean         Date: Dec 21, 2009      Category: Sharepoint      Views: 269

I have a document library that has a category column with the following values:
Business, Personal, Private. I need to group the documents by these values. I
have to allow a user to assign multiple values for a particular document, this
means a document is shown in different groups. For example, Document A will show
under the Business group as well as the Personal Group. When I change this
column to allow multiple values, I no longer see this column in the grouping
section. Does anybody know why this is happening? Is there a way for me to show
a document under different groupings?

By default you can't group  on a multivalue column  because it would require
showing the doc in two groups  at the same time when there is only one record.
You can't sort on multivalue either.

Did you get a chance to look at KWiz Tagging feature? (URL:
www.kwizcom.com/ProductPage.asp)
I dont know if the pricing from them is higher for you/company.
