Great Plains Template in WSS

Has anyone used or messed with the Great Plains template in WSS? From what I can gather it allows you to set up a sample data site to preview Great Plains (now MSFT Dynamics GP).

I can’t get the sample data to populate into the site. It is blocking me from a security point of view.

I created a test site which appears to be working until you select any Module and you get an error screen that says:

This page cannot be displayed.

The Great Plains Site requires the following missing components. Set up the components and try again.

· It requires that you properly configure your Great Plains Site. View or change options on the Configure Web Site page.

If this problem persists, please contact your administrator.

Troubleshoot issues with the Great Plains Site.

I checked out the troubleshooting tips and this is what it said:

I do not see any sample data or company displayed on the Configure Web Site page.

If the Web content zone of your Great Plains Site has been specified to use high security settings, or if you are using Internet Explorer's default Enhanced Security Configuration on Windows Server 2003, you will not see any sample data or company listed on the Configure Web Site page. You should specify the entire Windows SharePoint Services site as a trusted site. To do so, follow these steps:

1. On the Internet Explorer toolbar, click Tools.

2. Click Internet Options.

3. Click Security.

4. Select Trusted sites.

5. Click Sites.

6. Add the Windows SharePoint Services site to the trusted site zone.

7. Click OK.

I made the adjustments to my IE trusted sites and it still doesn’t work. I am worried that since this server sits behind a firewall that getting access and the security to work will turn into a pain, especially if they have to punch a hole to allow access. All this user wants to do is just see what the site looks like for pre-purchase analysis. I can’t find a demo of it anywhere online.

When you click on a module  name, do you get anything?

I can get the page  you got as well, it is the module info that is not pulling in.

What if we just kill all the people who have no morals?

More would take their place, so I say, simply ignore
them.

I've had it work in the past but alas, it isn't working  now.

Yeah I pretty much came to the sketchy conclusion that you have to have
Great Plains installed to use the sample  data. Details are few on the
GP site  and on others. Thanks for looking into it.

My children are not allowed to play any games where anyone gets
"killed". So, for games where your player fights army men or robots, we
are certain to use the politically correct term "destroyed". Anything
destroyed can be reconstructed.

So, all people who have no morals should be destroyed. Yeah?
