Getting prompted for authentication

Asked By: Landon    Date: Jul 23    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 2026

I have a site that is prompting certain users for authentication, but not all
users. There is no common denominator. All users have "Member" access to this
page, but only some are getting the prompt to authenticate, even after they have
already logged into the domain. Any ideas?

I had to go to each xp machine and set them individually for trusted
sites in IE explorer security... Maybe different machines have different
Internet security settings.

I concur, I think you need to check the IE advanced security options, and make
sure that user's have their browsers set to use windows integrated security for
the particular IE zone.

If you have granted access  to a user and they are still prompted  to logon, then
there must be link(s) to other sites that the user does not have access to.
