Getting problem in customised the my doc library and uploaded the doc

i customise the my doc library and upload the doc and now boss want to search
the doc my subject, department, and date (date should be in rang i:e From Date
ToDate)

plz tell what i do and any one know some webpart of that kind plz share your
experts views with me
