Get rid of Left Nav on a site.

I have a site that was setup with a Left Nav. I now don't want it

I've checked to make sure that Site Settings>Tree View>Enable Quick
Launch is NOT checked.

This is what's still there:

However, the Tree View and Quick Launch are only components of the Left
Navigation area. Other default components that do not depend upon the
two that I mentioned are the link "View All Site Content" and the
Recycle Bin.

Too completely remove the Left Navigation area, you will need to use a
Master Page that does not contain it.

if you're wanting to remove it for an entire site, you should
create a custom master page.
