Get rid of GreatPlains Package

  Asked By: Melanie    Date: Feb 07    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 766

On our production SPPS 2003 server we keep experiencing the folowing error:
Error: Failure in loading assembly: Microsoft.SharePoint.Solutions.GreatPlains,
Version=11.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c

For more information, see Help and Support Center at

How can I get rid of this package. It shows up when I do an enumwppacks but when
I try to do stsadm -o deletewppack I get an error that says it can't find the
package.

Remove it from web.config, and restart IIS?

I'm not a dev, but I would remove it from inetpub/<pathtowebapp>/bin or
wpcatalog. I would also remove reference from the Web.config for that Web app.

Does it fail on a certain page, or everywhere? You can append ?contents=1 to see
and remove Web parts from pages.

I removed it from the web.config. There was no problem with any of the pages.
The problem was with the application event log kept getting errors about not
being able to load the .dll

Like a needle in a haystack ,then. Did you check the registry? All of your
Web.config?

Taking it out of the web.config solved the problem.
