I'm a newbie in SPS, Web Parts, etc...

I wanna do the following: I have some documents in a folder. Now I wanna
build a web part that shows me some metadata of the documents in a table.

like this

Project Nr | Date | Author
---------------+-----------------+-----------
24EE01 10/09/2001 John
24EE35 10/05/2001 Mike

Project nr, date and author are properties (metadata) And it is the metadata
of each document that i wanna show in my Dashboard via a Web part.

Question: How do i get the metadata (properties) out those documents and
publish in a web part?

Some ideas, code or have somebody a usefull tutorial?
