FrontPage 2k don't edit files in Workspace

I have a lot of word documents and html files inside the Documents
directory (Workspace)

When it is a word Doc everything works fine, i can check in/out,
save,etc.

But if i try to edit an html file, first FrontPage give an error
saying that this site doesn't have FP extensions, followed by this
other error : HTTP/1.1 409 Conflict

When i try to open the workspace as a web from FP it open the root one

Ex. my machine name = myMc + my workspace = myWspc
http://myMc/myWspc - with IE SPP home page appears
http://myMc/myWspc - FP use only http://myMc
