Front Page error when opening any sharepoint site...

Asked By: Korey Monroe         Date: Mar 12, 2005      Category: Sharepoint      Views: 212

When I try to open a page from ANY team site by selecting File/Edit in
Microsoft Front Page/ ... I get the following error

"The server could not complete your request. Contact your internet
service provider or Web server administrator to make sure that the
server has the FrontPage Server Extensions or Sharepoint Services
installed."

It started happening out of the blue.

It seems there is a web  part on the page, and that is closed. Go to web part maintenance page. Append ?contents=1 to the url

Example.localhost/sites/Site1/default.aspx?contents=1

Have already thought about that...

I cannot open  a page  from ANY team  site. Even created a site  earlier
today using a Blank site template and tried to open it up in FP.
Still no success...

Are the web  pages un-ghosted. Did you modify your web pages using FP2003 earlier ?

While using front  page 2003 i follow following steps
click on File | open  site
type url in site  name text box
for example http://server-name/subsite-name/
Don't write any aspx name.
and you should have proper rights.
