FP03 ODBC Connection Failure

Every so often, when I’m using FP03 to create a new data source catalog for a DVWP, I try to access the SQL server and receive a permissions error. This error persists no matter what I do. I can even create an ODBC connection directly to the SQL server and yet can’t make the same connection inside FP03 to the SQL server.

I’m sure some of you have seen this, but I’ve not heard of anyone who has figured out what to do to allow FP03 to connect to the SQL database.

Any ideas?

I don't think FP is connecting to the database. Rather it is the web server. Obviously during run-time it is the web server.

IIRC, to use NTLM access to SQL Server, the AppPool identity needs permission to your database.

I usually use SQL server accounts and sprocs and lock them down to prevent problems.
