Forms Based Authentication Problems

Asked By: Roxanne    Date: Sep 20    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 1163

I've posted before, but want to summarize what I'm encountering so far.
I've got Share Point running with FBA, however, I can't get My Sites
working for my users. I can't seem to figure out a way to import
their profiles into Share Point. There is no link up in the to right
for My Sites, it just doesn't appear. If I sign in as a local admin
on the box, I do get a My Site link (however clicking on it takes me
to the forms based log in page and nothing I type gets me into the My
Site.)

Also, the built in "Sign me in automatically" check box at the log in
screen doesn't remember the user when checked. Users have to re-type
their password everytime they hit the site with a new browser window.

Any ideas on how to solve my issues would be greatly appreciated.

We are also facing similar issues  with FBA deployment.
Another issue we are facing is that the audience targetting does not
work for users  logged in using FBA.

We concluded the reason for such issues to be :
When a user  is logged in with FBA, this user is not recognized as a
valid logged in user by the SSP.
So, functions like audience, userprofile etc are not working well.

I just blogged about Dan's blog.

It's all explained there in pretty good detail. Please let me know about
your experience with it.
