Forming Corporate User Groups - Recalling FAA Experience

Asked By: Reuben    Date: Oct 11    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 822

I am with the Department of State. We are at the beginning of global
SharePoint deployment and adoption. We have been seeking to learn from
other USG agencies as well as the private sector. The Federal Aviation
Administration (FAA) has had a very successful adoption effort and has
set up a community of practice for so-called "facilitators" who are
located in every office using this tool. Facilitators are advanced users
who receive two days of training, have general tech skills, and are also
good at working with people. In most cases, the facilitators are
SharePoint administrators for their work units and take care of day to
day maintenance. They also provide Tier One support for users. If you
have an equivalent in your organization, they should certainly form one
part of the users group.
