Follow up to my last post about master templates and style sheets

Asked By: Jennifer Leach         Date: Sep 21, 2008      Category: Sharepoint      Views: 152

In my last post I talked about having 3 subsites on one main site. Each
subsite has it's own look and feel. On one of them i changed the master
tempalte to one of the out of box. This changed the look and feel.
However users who are not site collection admins do not see the style
sheet applied for that master template. When I added one user to the
site collection admin group then the user saw the new new master style
applied to the site. Why would adding a user to site collection admin
give them rights to see the style while others do not.

Generally, when you make changes to a master  page, you need to check it in
and then approve it before others can see the change. Is it possible that
something hasn't been checked in/approved?

If not, there's always the iisreset option to make sure you're covered.
