Folder view

  Asked By: Alma    Date: Jan 04    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 1128

When we try to use folder view it fails. The url in IE is made into a
unc path for some strange reason as follows:

\\xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx1\Law%20ITSS\Document%20Library
<file:///\\xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx1\Law%20ITSS\Document%20Library>

And then returns page cannot be found on all XP machines. We did have
success making it work using web folder view from a windows 2000 server.
The XP machines that fail do work using folder view on another 2003
portal.

Take a look at this tip from MSD2D.com to see if it may help you solve
the issue:

I tried that and it did not fix the issue. The strange  thing is I'm able
to access another SSPS2003 portal and explorer view  works from the same
client!

Also on the Portal that fails  from my XP client I am able to access
Explorer view from another windows  2000 server machine.
