'fixing' breadcrumbs in publishing site?

Asked By: Nakul    Date: Oct 05    Category: MOSS    Views: 1186

I hadn't noticed this before, but one of our marketing people brought it
up and now it bugs me.

On our intranet templates, the breadcrumb shows up as this:

Top Site > Sub Site > Pages > Default

That's silly/confusing. No one cares that the home page on the sub site
is an a document library called pages. And, traditionally, people might
use the breadcrumbs to 'go back' in which case they end up in a document
library that's totally foreign to the concept of browsing the intranet
web pages (not to mention the fact that it doesn't inherit the site's
master page)

I understand why it might do this by default, and I doubt there is a
solution, but, in case there is...is there any way to get MOSS to NOT
display the 'pages' list in the breadcrumbs if all I am looking at is a
'page'?
