Any Fix for Document Discussion Issues?

Has there be any resolution or fix for what ails document
discussions? My users are being prompted for a discussion server.

Provide a little info on your configuration... Single-server or
multi-server? Clients on OfficeXP or Office2K with SPS Extensions? STS
anywhere in the mix?
