Finding SharePoint Portal Version

Asked By: Evelyn    Date: Oct 28    Category: MOSS    Views: 845

We are currently on our way to migrate from Plumtree (BEA Aqua Logic)
portal to Sharepoint portal.

Now we have our dev version of the portal getting ready.

How do I know if this version of the dev is Sharepoint 2003 or
sharepoint 2007.

In the Site Settings page, I can see that the version is mentioned as
Version: 12.0.0.4518.

Can any one suggest if this is MOSS 2003 or MOSS 2007.

There is no MOSS 2003. The 2003 versions are WSS v2 and SPS 2003.
Those version  numbers start with 6 (mathing Windows and IIS). The 2007
versions are WSS v3 and MOSS 2007. Their version numbers start with 12
(matching Office). Sounds like you have MOSS (2007).
