File Viewing Performance

Asked By: Mindy    Date: Jan 09    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 623

OK, well I have my site up on the "big" server. There are lots of pdf and
ppt files that will be displayed to the users, and many of them are kinda
large (3 to 10 Mb).

Clicking on the file for viewing seems to download the file first, then
display. This takes some time.

What have people done to reduce the time it takes to display a pdf or ppt
file from a site?

Make the file  size smaller or provide a thumbnail or small section of
the file for previewing before and then they can decide to download  the
larger full version.
