File uploading in Sharepoint Server

Is there any way to upload a file from the client machine to the
sharepoint server using API or any other way than using

Not sure if this will help you.
Map the sharepoint  site to your client  system say 'X' drive.
then write a batch file  in the client system to copy files from hardisk to x
drive [sharepoint].

eg: copy c:\xxx <filename> X:

This batch file should place the files to the sharepoint site. You may
schedule the .bat file to automize the work for repeated work.

Read the file  from the client  machine to a binary format and then using
SPWeb.Files.Add(), one can upload  the file to a doc lib.
