File Upload Error

Asked By: Jody Holloway         Date: Dec 03, 2007      Category: Sharepoint      Views: 842

We are running WSS v3 with SQL 2005. One of my users tried to upload a
9MB file and the upload failed. The user received an error screen
that simply said "Unknown Error". The file size limit in Central
Admin is set to 50MB. I tested a little myself by changing the timeout
setting in IIS and it doesn't appear that this is the problem. Does
anyone have any idea of what else I could try to fix this problem?

When I tested and reproduced the error, I uploaded from my hard
drive using the basic "upload file" feature in a document library
through the standard document library view (not the explorer view).

If you're asking for network type info - When I did the upload  I did
it over a VPN from an office in the US to an office in Ireland. The
user who first produced the error  was in the same office as the
server, so they used a basic LAN type connection.
