Using FBA with LDAP in MOSS07

Asked By: Bobbi Allison         Date: Dec 13, 2009      Category: MOSS      Views: 208

I have a MOSS07 site that I want to extend to use as extranet to allow our
clients to access some document libraries. The access needs to be content
target based so I need to use audiences. I've read it can be done using LDAP
but I'm not familiar with the procedure to do it. I have created the store
using ADAM and so far I can add users but I don't know how to access it from
MOSS. So far I can't import profiles. Can anybody point me to a tutorial or
step by step guide to do this?

If it's anything like the mess I am involved in right now, then there isn't an
easy answer. I am currently trying to get distribution lists from A.D. into a
people picker column control so I can run SPD workflows against it and send
emails to dynamically selected groups. Since there is a set LDAP/GC query, I
believe that the only way I will accomplish this is by overriding the default
query (and possibly filters...don't know yet ;) and creating my own that will
target the selection set that I want. In effect, if you are looking to override
SharePoint's default behavior concerning user accounts then you likely will need
to brush up on these topics. These are links that I am using right now. This
probably isn't the direction you are trying to go but maybe it will bring other
ideas out for you...:
