FBA and Alert

I have moss2007 with FBA and try to use Alert.
Is it possible to use Alert fuctions with FBA?
I'm not using AD but SQL membership provider.

Alerts should work just fine under FBA as long as you have specified an
email address in the membership  provider. Here's an easy way to check.
Log in as an FBA user. In the upper right hand corner of the page
select MySettings from the Welcome menu. Do you have a Company email
listed? If not, then your user has no email on record in the membership
provider or SharePoint was not able to figure out which field in the
provider held the email address.

Is your problem that alerts aren't being delivered or that you can't
add an alert  as an FBA user? I just tried it on my test system and was
able to add an alert, but haven't had time to test that it would
actually deliver the alert.
