Extranet Question

Asked By: Damien    Date: Aug 12    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 691

Using the extranet tool I am able to create a link to our SPPS server.
The FQDN is defined in the external DNS handled by our ISP. Everything
seems fine, the users are prompted for authent, they login, they can
search for docs etc....

Except, when they open a document it opens in read only mode. Thus they
are not able to modify the document and save the changesback to the

What gives? I must be missing something.....

The SPPS server is behind an ISA firewall.

This might sound simplistic but are they using the doc mgmt
functionality? If yes, then they must check the doc out. If they
just open  by a click it will always be in read  only mode.

looking at your query it seems more of the rights given to the user's are the
seem to be readers only..
change them to authors for their areas. This should do it. We also went in thru
the same and then came across this.
