How to export Version History and Check in comment

Asked By: Jitendra    Date: Mar 02    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 5680

Any one have a way or an idea of how to export to Spread Sheet the version
history and check in comments of a Document library. Google found me a way to
export the Version by adding a calculated column to the library. But it reset
the original version.

I'll try it on my VM. Not sure if I could try on Production.

I have used this tool and it works very well. Only glitch I had was if there was
a filename/path that was too long. It then just skipped over it and I had to
then figure out which didn't get copied. Other than that, the permissions and
metadata stayed in tact.

You are saying you have used this "Metalogix
migration tool" to export  Version History and Check in comments  of a library  to
a Access data sheet?

You could almost certainly do something like this via a powershell script.

It's a great idea. I am kind of newbie to PowerShell. Could you give me some
more info on How to start.

Not to an access data sheet. You should call them and talk to them about that. I
migrated from sps2003 to moss2007 and wss 2.0 tp wss 3.0.
