Export List to Excel

Is there a way I can export an existing list to excel not as a package,
but as a single document and distro via email on a monthly basis

If not, is there a way I can have a list exported to excel weekly, or

I have experimented with data from Excel->SharePoint List and vice versa quite
a bit. It can be done in both directions successully, but I understand the
real thrust to your Q is to have it happen automatically on a schedule. Sorry,
I don't know how to do this. Maybe you can get Outlook to schedule a recurring
task to open an Excel file, then it's easy to get Excel to suck the List out
of SharePoint automatically with a little VBA.

We've had success using the scheduler under XP or Vista to run Excel
jobs on a schedule. You have to use Workbook_Open events and make sure
the Excel workbook doesn't do anything that requires user interaction.
Also, under Vista, there are the UAC issues to worry about - you will
probably wind up having to enter a user's ID and password, which makes
it a bit of a maintenance problem in that someone will have to remember
to update the scheduler task with the new password when the old one
expires. If you buy someone in your IT depatment a steak dinner, you
might get a 'static password' account set up.
