Explorer view problem

Asked By: Pankaj    Date: May 26    Category: MOSS    Views: 10504

I am having a strange problem with document libraries in Explorer view.
We are running MOSS 2007 SP1 and I am using XP SP2 on my desktop. I know
explorer view behaves differently when the client is running Vista . I
have a word document in a library which is displayed by default in
Explorer view. If I double click on the word document, word starts and
says it is contacting the server okay but the document never loads. Word
just sits there showing the blank page ever. If I change the view to All
Documents and double click on the document it opens just fine. Is there
anything I can do about this or should we just tell people not to use
explorer view?

I have to start Web Client in windows services for this to work. No deep
background here, just my own local workstation...we also had a similar
issue where the firewall wasn't passing the webdav traffic (specifically
upload images for blogs, however, so a little different). Anyway, maybe
these will give you some more troubleshooting bunny trails.
