Experience w/ Pilothouse Rating Module?

Asked By: Vikat    Date: Feb 08    Category: MOSS    Views: 691

As we prepare to upgrade to MOSS, we are looking at purchasing the
Pilothouse rating module as a nice add-on. Problem is, my IT folks
downloaded the trial, installed it on two MOSS dev sites, and it
doesn't work on either. When our IT folks tried to contact Pilothouse,
they said they don't support pre-purchase. We don't want to purchase it
unless we see that it works.

If anyone uses this, can you reply? I'm curious to know if others have
had trouble installing it/getting it to work properly, or if it's just
us.

We have gotten it installed, the feature enabled, and we
see "enable/disable ratings" under "settings" on a list/library, but
when we select "enable/disable ratings" it doesn't look like anything
happens.

I haven't use this application, but I wanted to point you at a free soution
that's being developed on Codeplex that handles document rating.

Also, just my opinion, but I probably wouldn't buy a webpart from a company that
won't even help you get things started, either.

Unfortunately, we need it for lists, and we'd
like it installed  as a feature  that can be enabled  as needed for
lists or libraries.

I'll post an update if we have any success w/ this thing or if we
find a better solution that meets our needs.
