Excluding content from search index?

Asked By: Karen Coleman         Date: Jan 24, 2006      Category: Sharepoint      Views: 290

I have a site that I recently created that the user wishes to exclude from the Portal search. In order to do this, I went into the site directory and excluded the site and then did the same in the portal site web part pages content area. Is that all I need to do? When I initiate another content update, the search results are still present.

This is all you should need to do. But it may take up to 4 full crawls before the content  is removed from the index  file.
