Exchange to SharePoint

Asked By: Raven    Date: Aug 25    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 673

If I put a calendar in SharePoint, the calendar comes up with requiring a
separate login. I can incorporate that calendar into my Outlook and again, it
does not require a separate login. If I link to a calendar in Exchange, I have
to do a separate login when in SharePoint and the calendar view is through OWA.
Is there something I'm overlooking? Has someone come up with a 3rd Party product
that allows for seamless integration of Exchange calendars into Outlook?

What is the url to owa  ?

If its a fqdn you will be asked to logon unless you add to your trusted sites
list

If you can't add to trusted sites try using just the machine name rather than

This also depends on the version of Exchange and what kind of authentication is
used. Exchange 2007 uses FBA authentication by default - the recommended
workaround it to setup another web application using Windows Authentication.
After that, Philip's recommendation is ½ right - you need to add to Trusted
Sites, but if you are using IE7 you will also need to change the security
settings for Trusted Sites to "Automatically Send Credentials" since this is
disabled post-IE6.

True - with whatever version of exchange  you need to turn off fba ... just a
note though, in the UK every version of IE7 that I've seen has "automatic logon
with current user name and password" selected - maybe the UK version of IE7 has
slightly different settings ..... ?

To clarify:

IE6 - Intranet and Trusted Sites zones have 'Automatic Logon' enabled

IE7 - Only Intranet has 'Automatic Logon...' enabled
