Eternal Outlook Folder

Asked By: Grant    Date: Jan 21    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 559

Some time ago I synchronized a mysite document library to my outlook
folder. I found it to be not very useful because I had to
re-authenticate to sharepoint every time I opened my outlook, even
though they both use my domain credentials.

1) How do I fix this problem so authentication is automatic?

So I closed the folder and deleted it from my account settings in the
SharePoint Lists tab.

Every few days it reappears and asks me to log in to MySite.

2) Where do I permanently remove this so it never appears again?

Automatic authentication  depends on the auth type, URL of your
SharePoint site, and your IE security settings. For automatic
credential sending to work, you need to be using NTLM authentication and
the URL must be in the Local Intranet zone (or the security settings  for
the zone it is in need to be changed, which is not recommended).

So for an enterprise deployment it sounds like to keep the annoying
authentication prompt from coming up I either need to change the
Internet Options Security for every client in the enterprise (not to
mention road warriors), either by group policy or through training and
support.

Or I can remove  the folder  (HOW do I do this?). And prohibit further
users from synchronizing to Outlook from MySites.

Again, setting the authentication  issue aside, how do I permanently
remove this sharepoint  list from my outlook  folder so that it stops
appearing?
