Errors when attempting a backup in MOSS

I'm getting a series of these types of errors when I attempt to backup
MOSS from the Operations section of Central Admin:

"O bject CASLIntr1_SITE failed in event OnBackup. For more information,
see the error log located in the backup directory. SqlException: Cannot
open backup device '\\intranet\Intranet MOSS 2007
Backups\072607\spbr0000\00000015.bak'. Operating system error
5(Access is denied.). BACKUP DATABASE is terminating abnormally."

What's confusing me is that the accounts have access to the backup path,
and there really shouldn't be an issue.

it seems to be working... I think a security descriptor got
messed up during an attempt to change folder premisions by another
administrator while I was doing it. Shouldn't have caused an issue, but
it did. I reset the permissions using the advanced tab... and the
backup is running fine.
