Error Migrating Database (Wss 2 to Wss3)

Asked By: Erik    Date: Feb 02    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 2027

I'm in the migration process for a Wss2 Site t Wss3 version.
First, i run the Prescan tool, and everithing is OK.
Copy the content Database for the new SQL Server (2000), i create the
new Application Pool and Site Collection in the new Server (Wss3).
When i try t attach the content Database to my new Site Collection
(The Database when i run the Prescan tool) SharePoint shows this
Error :

(Database) on (Server) contains user-defined schema. Databases must
be empty before they can beused. Delete All of the tables, stored
Procedures and otherbjects or use a different database.

Ans i got 2 Errors in Event Viewer :

Source : Windows SharePoint Services
Category : Database
Event Id : 5586
Type: Error
Description : Unknown SQL Exception 208 Ocurred. Additional Error
Information from SQL Server is Included Below.
Invalid Object name 'dbo.SystemVersion'

Source : Windows SharePoint Services
Category : Database
Event Id : 3759
Type: Error
Description : Database 'Intranet_Content' on SQL Server
Instance 'SQLServer' is not empty and does not match current database

I need to solve ths issue urgent, i only have the content DB (.mdf
and .ldf) cause the old server is dead...

I try to install a Wss 2 in thenew server and attach the content DB
and i got te same error...
