Error Message Explaination

Asked By: Ariel    Date: May 03    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 728

I am trying to upload a video to my site as I do every month for our
employee of the month celebration. I am getting the following error:

The form submission cannot be processed because it exceeded the
maximum length allowed by the Web administrator. Please resubmit the
form with less data.

I assume it really means the file is to big and not that the name is
to long.

Name: EOM 04-06-2006.mpg

Size: 566 MB (593,780,736 bytes)

How or where do I change the max size of forms/files that can be
loaded.

If you keep applying huge video  files onto the sharepoint site, am afraid your
indexing and DB server performance will go for a task.
Help to place the file  in the network share and link to it from sharepoint.

Go to the admin screen and navigate to the Virtual Server General
Settings for WSS and there is a "Maximum Upload Size" setting you can
configure.

I think in machine.config u can change the upload  size for aspnet
applications; using <httpruntime> tag of machine.config
