Error linking Calendar Event to Outlook 2003 SP2

when I try to link my calendar to outlook 2003, I get the following
error message. The link work but nothing is displayed in outlook.

Task '753d Electronic Systems Group Knowled... - EISG Calendar of
Events - Updating' reported error (0x80004005) : 'An error occurred in
Windows SharePoint Services. Try updating the folder again. If the
problem continues, contact the Windows SharePoint Services site
administrator.'

Has anyone seen the above error before, and if so, how do I fix it.

Does your calendar have lots of documents attached to it?

I belive there is at least 300 Items in the monthly calendar.

But are there documents attached to the calendar items? That will cause problems when linking to Outlook.

No, there are not documents attached.
