Error during WSS Install

Asked By: Bruce Duncan         Date: Dec 18, 2003      Category: Sharepoint      Views: 1353

Trying to install SPS2003 on a standalone Win2K3 Standard server via a
Terminal Service session. The Install gets a bout 1/2 way through t WSS
portion and dies with a MD Internal 2337 error. I have no idea why its
failing and I have not been able to find any info on google about it.

I am installing as the local Admin account, and have removed FP2002
server extentions from the box.

Any suggestions?

Ummm, I'd suggest uninstalling IIS and reinstalling IIS since the
removal of FPE doesn't always work well.

Are there certain files I can look for. Uninstalling IIS I would
prefer to use as a last resort since there are other websites on the
server.

Thanks

I had the same experience and it turned out that the TS session  was not communicating correctly.

Cut out the TS session and ran installation directly on box.

hope this helps.

TS Error Explanation:

Error 2337

There are no shared communication devices.
Explanation: This message should occur only on a down-level computer. Any action to correct the problem should be performed on that computer. The server  is not sharing any communication-device queues, so the command you typed is invalid.

Action: No action is needed

Well that pretty much sucks. This is a co-lo server  and I don't have
direct access to the box. :(
