Asked By: Brenda    Date: Jan 01    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 786

i made a team site, we had an area before that
team site, so i had to move all the documents from the
document library to a new library in the new site, and
i did that, i copied all the documents, but now new
documnet library doesnot works, whenever someone or i
try to access that document library in that site it
takes to the webpart maintenence page, i dont get it
shows a page before that there are 127 documents in
the lib but it doesnt opens up the library, can anyone
tell why is that and help me resolve the issue

What method did you use to move  the documents?

i cut the documents  from the source's SPS2003 area's document library  using the
explorer view and then pasted all the documents in the destination's WSS site's
doc lib  using the explorer view that is it, thats it, it copied the documents
successfully, it still shows there are 127 docs present in the library but i
just can't access  it, no one can, when we click it takes us to webpart
maintenence page, after completing the migration from the area  to a new team
site i just deleted the area that is it, i have done that before as well the
same method, i donot understand what is wrong

Did you happen to copy the "Forms" folder as well? If so, this might be the
issue as these files are not meant to be copied...

no i didnt copied the forms folder as there was a forms folder already present
in the destination doc  lib, cant i revive those documents  some how in that doc
lib because if i am not able to then i would be in a big trouble
