Error: 1387: A member could not be added to or removed from the local group because the member

From last two days I am struggling to activate the sharepoint Search Service. I always get the following message:

Could not start the Microsoft SharepointPS Search service on Local Computer

Error: 1387: A member could not be added to or removed from the local group because the member does not exits.

I am using Local System Account but tried various other options. I tried with Sharepoint
Adim, Local Server Admin but not able to fix it.
