Currently the alert feature in SharePoint has little support to configure (Though editing the XML files gives little result). For example if an announcement’s title is more than 32 characters the alert’s subject line contains 3 dots after 32 characters. It is a very generic problem. There is no option to change that length.
The Rich Text feature is not working with the copy/paste scenario. For example if we copy some text with some rich text feature (bold/color) and paste in the body of the announcement the text comes as plain though we can edit it online there.
There is no option for setting when the Daily Summary Alert will be dispatched.
